I did it last year (http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000086-1.html) so I figured I'd give it a shot and try again this year.[nbsp][nbsp]The following is some of what happened in 1999 for FutureQuest
1999 Year End Thoughts
* The Gold package began offering MySQL as a standard feature (prior it was only available to Platinum, VisionQuest, & FutureQuest packages)
* A typo in the uptime guarantee offered all on the servers a 100% refund for January (not to mention excessive downtime due to Sprint issues with the T1s we had at the time)
* The order forms were shut down![nbsp][nbsp]FutureQuest was experiencing such an enormous growth spurt in Jan/Feb that we were forced to close the order forms and create a waiting list for new accounts.[nbsp][nbsp]When the order forms were re-opened we had approximately 100 new clients in the queue.[nbsp][nbsp]Even a waiting list did not stop the growth!
* FutureQuest went through a total revamp of the site design - From black/grays to blues/purples/whites
* SIX, NINE, SEVEN, NEO, and OSCAR are brought online.
* Justin Nelson joined the FutureQuest Team
* EZ-MLM becomes a free feature with all packages
* SSL becomes available to FutureQuest site owners
* FutureQuest drops the T1 lines and moves into an OC-48 location with a brand new DS-3
* FutureQuest introduces Domain Lockdown -- Proves that you can prevent "browsing" into other people's directories on Linux systems even though the majority believe this can only be done with v. 6 and higher.[nbsp][nbsp]Andrew accomplished the impossible :)
* The offices/homes/staff of FutureQuest move to Kissimmee (You gotta see this one ;)[nbsp][nbsp]http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000170-1.html )
* FutureQuest Announces Alliance with NetMechanic (You'll see more growth in this area in 2000)
* QuestMail is introduced - Web based email functionality
* The FutureQuest Community decides to start searching for ET with the SETI Project
* Networksolutions is forced to endure competition -- Result = FutureQuest partners up with Register.com
* AOTA.net gets a face lift and becomes a searchable database/knowledge base
* All New Servers & Backup Systems -- A MAJOR upgrade for everyone on everything (still noted on www.FutureQuest.net/Status/) (http://www.FutureQuest.net/Status/))
* FutureQuest gets Shocked w/ a brand new Flash Intro
* Internic allows Long Domain Names - Result = FutureQuest partners up with RegisterNames.com and is one of the first hosts to allow this type of functionality
* All New & Improved CNC V. 2.0 is released to all site owners
2000 Goals -
Automation, Automation, Automation so that the team can get back to enjoying personal service, speedier delivery of site owner requests, and playing on the forums with the community :)
---------
Heh the above makes it seem so fast -- The year had soooo much more in it.[nbsp][nbsp]More than what could possibly be listed in a lil list but I enjoy trying to see how much I can remember verbosely :)[nbsp][nbsp]I know we went from one server on T1s with very few web based tools to multiple servers on a DS-3 with a whole lot more tools, and this community has grown tremendously!!!
I can honestly say that 1999 has been the best year of my entire life![nbsp][nbsp]I can't wait to see what 2000 brings :D
HAPPY NEW MILLENNIUM EVERYONE!
