lol, isnt it funny (or sad) that most of the time the things that crash our computers are the things that we buy to keep it up :(.

That reminds me of a UPS that beeped from a surge and caugt on fire (good thing people were near it)[nbsp]

The watchdog subsystem suffered a malfunction that caused both SIX and NINE to reset...[nbsp][nbsp]The servers are setup in a 'buddy' fashion and interconnected as they are responsible for monitoring one another and controlling the watchdog capabilities...

Fortunately, the way the watchdog triggered only caused a minimal amount of downtime for both servers... My fear was that the relays were stuck in closed position which would not allow them to completely reset...

As far as email, right now each server handles their own MTA duties and the emails would bounce back to the originate... 99% of the time, the emails will go back into their deferral queue and attempted again periodically...[nbsp][nbsp]Due to the nature of the internet and it's interruptions in service (everywhere) - deferrel queues are designed for just this type of situation...

I don't know all the details yet, but due to a watch dog failure both the SIX and NINE servers are going to be manually rebooted. Estimated downtime is about 30 minutes...
