This question is directed at site owners that use Netscape Messenger to check their email...
From what I understand, there is a progress bar that is supposed to be updating while downloading a large email...
While reviewing some debugging logs from POP3 transactions, I discovered a potential Netscape bug that relies on a non-standard method of retrieving message size...
Problem it creates:
1) Large email is being pulled, but progress bar does not update and client thinks his email is not working (prevalent on clients with internal modems)
2) Progress bars are always nice to have, and I would be willing to modify our POP3 daemon to give the 'broken' response that Netscape requires.
3) The hacks/changes should not affect any other email clients normal operations.
If any Netscape users have noticed this behavior, please post the version you were using and if possible, the size of the email...
Thanks...
