View Full Version : SETI Updates...

It would also be *very helpful* if those who are going to, or already have, joined the team could use names that reflect your web site so that I can be sure to give credit where credit is due -- I know most of them but am a bit lost on a couple ;)
Thanks!

hmmm... make that 59 members.[nbsp][nbsp]I'm in.[nbsp][nbsp]Though I think an ET looking for other ETs is a bit of bad karma, especially with my last few run ins with some. ;)
Wow, I just looked at the stats page for the first time in a few days, and the FutureQuest Alien Search Committe has racked up 8267 hours of CPU time since its start 2 weeks ago![nbsp][nbsp]That's about 94% of a year!!![nbsp][nbsp]I know that some people had a few hours of CPU time accumulated before this team's start, but the achievement is still pretty cool. My inner (or is it outer?) computer geek finds this very cool and will psyched when the year mark is reached.
ET will no doubt enjoy his/her/its free hosting account when we find him/her/it. I think you should hook him/her/it up with the high dollar hosting package ... NuRelm will volunteer to help build ET a free ecommerce site when we find him/her/it, as I'm sure that he/she/it will have a lot of merchandising opportunities here on earth :)
At 3:45 UTC, my SETI@Home screen saver announced that it had detected a message from an alien world. The message was translated as followed: "You have been sent an intergalactic greeting. Forward this transmission to 20 other planets in the next 30 astronomical minutes or your world will be destroyed by a large meteor. This is not a joke."
Wouldn't you know it? All that money spent on SETI and the first message is a hoax spam. :)
