The SIX server will go down between 8am and 9am EST July 7th 1999 as a preventative measure for a reboot. Estimated down time will be about 6 minutes.

It's about 3PM mountain time and is SIX still down?

We were down less than 10 minutes - all servers are up and functional at this time, and six has been up for over 7 hours now... what site are you not able to view?

To see the amount of uptime since the last reset for each server, visit our status page at http://www.FutureQuest.net/Status/ at any time. The server uptimes have just been added as another service of FutureQuest :)

Let us know what site you are unable to view (Note: FutureQuest.net is on SIX)...

<edit>
I just noticed, your site, http://www.ecom2k.com, is on NINE, not SIX, so your site was not affected by the reboot at all - are you still unable to view it? It works for me...

Hmmm .... Andrew told me it was being moved to SIX in prep for installing a secure cert.

Does not really matter where it is, but no, I cannot access the site ... let me try an ftp access ... OK now I'm really confused ... I can FTP to it but not get the WWW pages.

Andrew had set up some cross NFS mounts until the server cert was installed for secure.ecom2k.com, and I had had trouble getting email, and Deb fixed those .... maybe we were not ready to dissolve those mounts yet?

Not a major issue until the the cert comes back from Thawte, but that should be any day now ...

ahh the things Terra does ;)

OK... yes you are on SIX -- are you able to view via IP number?

Dunno .... I'll run over to my office & try

Hmmmm why didn't I think of that....

Yup, I can see it via the IP address, but not the domain name .... You think my ISP needs to restart their DNS server?

(Wildly guessing)

(Wow, I finally got "upgraded" to member with these posts!

Sorry - I didn't realize he had moved your domain. It is a DNS issue, as Domainwatch.com shows a problem as well, yet when I trace from my PC it works fine (I'm 1124 miles from the servers myself). Since your domain was moved to a different server and a dedicated IP, it's propogation all over again , no different than transfering to another host :(

All other sites are tracing fine. Here's a Domain Watch trace to your domain:
http://www.domainwatch.com/nph-trace.cgi?host=www.ECOM2K.COM

And the IP directly:
http://www.domainwatch.com/nph-trace.cgi?host=208.243.19.237

And FutureQuest.net, also on SIX:
http://www.domainwatch.com/nph-trace.cgi?host=SIX.FUTUREQUEST.NET

I appologize for the mistake - I wasn't aware of your site being moved to SIX. It's most likely just a DNS issue, as everything is working fine on our end.

OK[nbsp][nbsp].... now I've got a wrinkle to it.

How come my email for ecom2k is accessed OK?
Is it on a different machine?[nbsp][nbsp]Or is there a different
table entry for the pop accounts?

I've asked my ISP to check from their end as well

Curiosity reigns .....

Looks like we have some Internic root-server weirdness...[nbsp][nbsp]I will resubmit ecom2k.com, and see if it will reset and clear the problem...

Email works on DNS MX records, and are not always cached like regular host names...

Somehow Domain Watch thinks your domain resides on our old lines in Gainsville - I will notify them of the problem and possibly they will be able to reset their DNS as well...

Thanks a bunch.

BTW .. Thawte got the pkg and deposited my check so I guess we can use your PN.[nbsp][nbsp]The only goofy thing is that you had to sign that letter as well.[nbsp][nbsp]They are really cookin', I would not be suprised if the cert was ready on Friday.

Alls well that ends well.
