At 3:00am this morning, all Apaches were taken offline on the SIX server for 2 minutes to perform an Apache upgrade...
1.3.4 --> 1.3.6
There have been some unexplained problems (not sure if Apache problem or not) with certain types of headers and the UBB board...[nbsp][nbsp]This is a diagnostic measure to see if this solves an errant cookie/header issue that has affected one domain...
Apache is now up to the current stable release, it should also help when connection slots are nearing capacity by spawning more children to handle transient spikes... It will also release memory to the free pool by expediantly killing the children at more opportune times when the load subsides yet retaining an optimal amount to service new requests...
I hope that the new load-balancing measures put into place will result in a noticeable improvement in the delivery of content...
