The TAZ server experienced an out-of-control PHP3 script. The memory was consumed. TAZ was down from 9:33 EST to 10:19pm EST.

Andrew is taking the PHP3 offline on the TAZ server to make some repairs to it.

He is guessing it will offline for about 2 hours.

All PHP access will return a permission denied (403 Forbidden)...

I am going to rebuild the PHP3 and see if the results I've obtained on SIX server will hold true for TAZ as well... SIX has shown to be much more resilient to PHP memory problems...

In a nutshell, a runaway PHP3 file consumed 280Meg of memory in the blink of an eye...

PHP 3.0.7 should be back online soon...

Our apologies for the inconvenience...

The TAZ Apache 200 pool has been upgraded to the new Apache/PHP3 combination...

Apache 1.3.4
PHP 3.0.7

I have tested the new memory protection methods (using various problematic functions), and it is locking/stopping the memory usage at 8mb, with a run time of 10 seconds...

I believe that I have ***finally*** squashed this long standing bug... http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

The Apache 204 pool is next on the list, and will be operational in approximately 30 minutes...
