I like the new trend... Before it was Slowness, Down Time, etc. Now it's Quickness, Up Time, etc. Only the etc. part is the same http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif Um, anyway, I was freaked out when I woke up, couldn't connect to my site or check vdj's email - my ISP's email was fine. I tried AOTA, to no avail. I though "Not again..."

Then I noticed that the only sites I could go to were the one's hosted on my ISP - I guess their T1's are down (again). Luckily I have a friend's dial-up and password from a different ISP. He knows, and he sleeps at night - wierd.

I don't think I've ever seen an "UpTime Alert" before but I could get used to this. Always good to hear the hardware is behaving. Is 1.05 a percentage of load?

1.05 means it's doing *very* good for a full blown production server such as ours... quite pleased with it

Well, I posted this because I got agitated of watching the 10:00pm News one night, and all the *bad* stories got 3 min airtime, and the *good* uplifting stories got maybe 30 seconds... hmmppfffff

Sad world we live in when everyone only cares about the bad that surrounds them... I wanted to break that tradition, as this was a forum to announce problems/glitches with the server...

I work my tail off 14 - 18 hours a day, and FutureQuest server was built from the ground up by Deb and myself... There have been so many bad reports in this forum, that I needed to take a step back and evaluate all the good that has come from it... Our problems and issues turned into positive changes for the better... It has challenged me to no end, awakening many talents and teaching myself new avenues of locating and researching relevent knowledge...

In conclusion: I step back and look at where we were, and what we have become... All I can be is proud of both Deb and myself for what we have both created, and extend a warm gratitude for all our site owners that still believe in us...

Today was my birthday (2/7), and I just took a moment to reflect on another year that has blitzed by... Many question: did I obtain my goals? / did I accomplish anything positive? / did I grow? / did I learn? / etc...

Just a day of reflection to realize that the future is now...

It's always a great feeling to see good news posted. As soon as I saw the title I was happy.
