View Full Version : FQuest Alert: Stats Run

I have returned from the NOC, and everything seems to be stabilizing... I can only pray that our routes stay rock solid now, and our link *directly* to the backbone will maintain it's circuit... There is much I can say, but to be honest I'm exhausted - so I will have to post my *Upgrade* novel tomorrow night...

Due to all the issues surrounding our server move, I am holding off on running STATS... My primary concern at this moment is to ensure stability, and to run extended tape backups... STATS and Backup usually overlap and stresses the system pretty hard, so the choice has been made to run the backup exclusively, only to ensure that we don't run into anymore snags...

I will resume Stats when my confidence in the server's stability increases... At this moment, I'm not taking any chances as everything seems to finally be settling in...

psst, Del...

Take a look at our 'traceroute'... http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

I think you'll like... Though temporary until we are fully integrated into UUnet's backbone... FINALLY!

Then in 4 months - we will be OC-12 bound...

I checked this AM and only 10 hops for me from the U.K, 13 or 14 before. Sweet and lots faster Terra. Worth all the hassle I'd say. Let's hope it holds up ... http://www.aota.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

I am in the process of getting everyone's STATS caught up...

The process is running smoothly (crosses fingers) as the 'Stage1' customers finished about an hour ago...

Stage2 customers are still running (currently in the 'g' domain range), and will be till the early morning... This may cause some slowdown as we hit the 9:00am (EST) hour when traffic begins to peak...

It's also going to be very heavy tonight as the server must do it's month end processing...

In other words: the server is being heavily stress tested right now... I have high confidence that all will go well...
