Danger of having a directory set to 777 ?

Hi, I may need to set a directory to 777 (to upload files in it from the web).

What are the real risks of having a web directory set to 777 ? Is there any way anyone could put files in it remotely ?

On our servers, not too much of a problem since you have Domain_Lockdown fencing in your xdom tree...

Mode 777 is usually a problem on other Host's servers that allow users to waltz right in to other peoples directories...[nbsp][nbsp]You'll find this case much more often than not...
