Which directory to upload.zip files?

Hi!

I have a 1.66 mb game program that I would like to offer my visitors.[nbsp][nbsp]I zipped the files, but am not sure which directory to put it in...also, do I need to pw protect that directory?

Hi again Joi,

If you want people to be able to download it, anybody that is, don't password protect it.[nbsp][nbsp]If that is the case you can put it in your www folder or any sub-folder under the www folder

If you want to be selective about who you allow to download it, then I would put it in it's own folder under www and password protect the folder.

btw, does having such a file for download increase bandwidth ? I'm not talking about the visitors who will be downloading it...I'm asking specifically about the download itself. Will that cause the site to slow down at all or cause any burden on the server?
