Is anyone using wordpress with their web sites hosted at FutureQuest? How easy is it to set this up? (I am familiar with wordpress as I have a blog on a site hosted elsewhere, but that company basically did all the set-up for me.) Is it possible to do this on a site with the Visionary package?

Hi lizard :)

Many FutureQuest Site Owners run WordPress, and it can be installed on a Visionary package. I think most would agree that WordPress makes it pretty easy to install. Here are some links that should help with that task:

Included in the above is a link to WordPress's Famous 5-Minute Install:

Hope this helps. If you run into trouble, just post your questions here and I'm sure others can help guide you as well.

Hi, Melissa, or anyone else out there. I am getting the following error when I try to run the install script for my word press installation.

"Can’t select database

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the ****** database.

Are you sure it exists?
Does the user ******** have permission to use the ********** database?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_********. Could that be the problem?"

I blocked out the name of my database and user name - don't know if I should be posting those on the forum - but they are exactly the same as in the MYSQL Account Management screen. What am I doing wrong, or not doing? Do I need to do something more with this database that I haven't done?

Never mind, I think I figured it out.

Not sure what domain this is in regards to but if you still have problems you may want to drop an email off to the Service Desk, Service@FutureQuest.net , with the details and we can certainly take a look.
