Hi all,

We're planning on running two websites using WordPress: 1) our main website (thepartneringinitiative.org) and 2) a website for a specific project (partnershipbrokers.org).

We would like to use the same User information for both so that users can register on either site to comment etc., and also sign up for each others' newsletters.

One way to do this is to create a Wordpress Network (http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network) but as this involves hosting two domains on a single package, it's against FQ's rules.

Any thoughts on how we can legitimately achieve the same end? (There's no problem paying for two packages as necessary.)

Many thanks,
Darian

If all you need is shared database access then this would be the easiest way: http://www.futurequest.net/Services/VAS/#XConnect

Many thanks, Kevin. However, I'm not sure if just sharing the database would work. Would separate WP installations mess up when sharing a DB? Unless all the user information is in one table and one can set both separately running WP installations to use the same user table (in one case on a different DB). Does anyone know offhand?

Cheers,
Darian

It seems like an IRM would work. Except, as I recall, MYSQL usage is not allowed on an IRM.
