Newbie question...I need a simple way to show a message that changes every day (based on the current server date). The text could be its own file, or from a larger file with lots of text and targets for each message. I really don't want to have to ftp in every day just to change dat http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

It's a simple daily devotional message.

Is there an easy way to do this, or is it messy? Any thoughts? THANKS!

Hi Frankc

You may find what you are looking for here http://www.cgi-resources.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/Random_Text/

Or at least something close http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Deb, ain't you sumpin--look away, Andrew...*smooch*!

Well, the church can't afford $50 for the script I wanted on that page you linked me to, but I wandered a bit around and found a Today in History script that, if modified (duck!), will do the job VERY nicely with some nice side effects (congregation birthdays!) I hadn't even thought of.

Thanks...you folks are the best. Starting a new customer on FQ was one of the very smartest things I've done in my 48+ years!
