This may be a general question about using captcha, which I've never done, so forgive my stupidity...

I'm using a Wordpress plugin Contact Form 7, which has been great -- except for the Trolls sending in garbage submissions that have to be waded through. There is a companion plugin available to implement a captcha check, but I can't get it to work as advertised. The author states that:
To use CAPTCHA, you need GD and FreeType library installed on your server.
Anyone know what they are talking about? Thanks...

Support for both GD and FreeType is available on the servers. As an aside, I've found the Akismet plugin to pretty much squash all spam comments on my Wordpress blogs.

I've used Aksimet from the start, but the Trolls have found ways around it. Thanks for the info Sheila - I was sure FQ did support this, but had to check

Ugg. Hope the trolls are not interested enough in my blog to bother.

It works. You might find this thread helpful:

We set up NMS. Took us a while to figure it out and not one troll to date after many thousands of impressions. Still thinking of springing for the fancy PHP form someone else recommended.
