and when visitor go to www.abc.com/a/ , they are 301 redirected to www.abc.com/b/

If you've got the page /a/ marked with a 301 to /b/, then the search engines will ignore /a/ and index /b/.

I'm not accusing you of anything, but the tactics you seem to be suggesting (having search engines index one page but directing visitors to another page) are seen by the search majors as attempts at gaming the system.

The most effective ways to get good rankings are not by attempting to game the system but by:

- having good, relevant, frequently updated content; and
- having valid, semantically significant HTML.

I hope this helps.
