.htaccess authentication problem

Hello. Did not know where to post this.

I have a problem with .htaccess (or that appears to be the cause of it). It looks like the whole website, including the main page, has been password protected without me doing so. So I can't even access the main page. I suspect the .htaccess file in the main website directory (xwebsite) has been corrupted somehow.

Fixed the problem myself. The password protection somehow wrote to the wrong .htaccess file.

It was aborted halfway by accident, so that might have caused it.
