View Full Version : missing email?

I have several POP email accounts I have used for some time, primarily accessing them with Thunderbird. I have Thunderbird configured to retain email on server until I delete it, which has worked for several years now. I access my email from multiple machines, all running identical Thunderbird setups. I have always been able to retrieve un-deleted email form multiple sites.

Yesterday, I moved to a second location and discovered that all my email was deleted from the server. What happened? I'm moving between locations more often now, so perhaps I need to convert my accounts to IMAP? Can this be done without deleting the old accounts and creating new ones?

Any hope of retrieving any of the lost mail?

Hello Jack,

To switch from POP to IMAP you only need to stop using the POP protocol and start using IMAP in your email client, which probably would require changing your settings in your email client.

In regards to missing mail please send an email to the Service Desk, Service@FutureQuest.net, with specific details as to what email account when they disappeared and so on.

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks... didn't realize the POP vs IMAP was controlled via the email client... been some time since I set this up but I do recall that was an option in Thunderbird.

Don't like to bug the service people, but I'll at least see if they have any ideas of what happened.
