I am working with a non-profit that although they only have 20 POP accounts, several of them store 100+MB. Changing user behavior in this case has been next to impossible, so I'm looking for another solution. Can anyone recommend a top-notch email hosting service?

Take a look at LuxSci - been using them for +18mo. lots of features, reasonable $$, strong security, etc, etc.

Thanks Michael, but when adding storage (e.g., 1GB per account) the pricing quickly goes up for their basic business account. For comparison, RackSpace email hosting is almost half the price for considerable more storage when pricing 20 accounts.

Would Google apps work for you?

I have some security & privacy concerns with that option. Not to mention some of the glitches they've run into, including lost emails. Supposedly their new cross-center redundancy will fix the issues, but I'll take a wait-and-see attitude (until they buy me out;)).

I use Rackspace Email Hosting, and haven't had any complaints. The accounts are $1.00 per email/month, but the minimum you can get is 10. Their web client isn't as bad as I had imagined either.

Edited to add: The cost is now $2.00/month per mail box, I don't know why it would be more expensive now, I'll have to find out.

I found out that the mailboxes are now $2.00 a month, with a minimum purchase of 5 mailboxes.
If you're a slicehost customer, you can get rackspace promotional pricing of $1.00 a month, with a minimum of 3 mailboxes.
When I asked them what justified doubling their prices, they didn't have an answer, other than their "fanatical support".

Hi Evie, thanks for the response. Some questions if you don't mind:
- How long have you been using them?
- Is this for a FQ-hosted site?
- Were you impacted by their data center outages?
- How's their anti-spam solution?
- Does it handle mailing lists?
