Hi,
I am currently developing a website for a client hosted here and am trying to set up his email addresses to use a gmail inbox, sending and receiving using POP and SMTP through gmail. The thing is though that the sending doesn't seem to work, I can receive fine but not send. Is there anything I should know?
Cheers, Tim.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you are having gmail handle the client's email services and that client is no longer using FutureQuest's mail services?
If this is the case, then the DNS for the domain must be set to use Gmail's servers.
I noticed you just posted in the "Contract or Be Contracted" forum and posted a domain name that you say you are building a website for.
That domain is not currently registered at all.
I would suggest you go back and remove the domain name as otherwise someone else may register it and your client will not be able to.
Also, the email is not going to work if the domain name is not registered and set to point to the correct mail servers.

Oops, it was because I posted the wrong address, the site is finished http://www.aussiealltrails.com/ but is editing of posts disabled here? Can a mod change that.
Also, I am not using google apps, I am using gmail which can now send and receive via POP3 and SMTP, essentially acting like a regular desktop email client. I have done it for dozens of other clients hosted elsewhere without problems.
Tim,
Make sure you use port 465 and also best to use the full email address for username. I just set up a test in my Gmail account and Ports 25 and 587 fail as FutureQuest doesn't support TLS.
Also the default mail server Gmail enters is smtp.aussiealltrails.com and you would want to use mail.aussiealltrails.com
