Hi! I'm currently looking in to hosts and FutureQuest looks great and while exploring I found these forums and I hope some kind person here might be able to help or might know of some forum on the web where I could get help.

I am programming an order form (using javascript instead of cgi because I don't have access to cgi for this client) and I need to calculate shipping charges based on which shipping method the customer chooses. I am trying to check for this but the script ALWAYS takes the 'else' route so I know that I'm doing something wrong.

The order form is located at: mall.scrapbooking.com/easysort/orderform.html (http://mall.scrapbooking.com/easysort/orderform.html)

Thanks for any help you can give.

I am no JavaScript expert and probably can't really help you out in that part... but have you considered using an outside company for credit card processing? The reason I ask is that I doubt too many people will order via a non secure web site. A lot of people are skeptical as it is, and it just seems that a secure order form would help.

I can't recomend a good company right now, though, because I'm looking for a better one myself. You can check out the e-commerce forum and ask for recomendations though.

Just my 2 cents http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

My client already has merchant status with her local bank; I tried to get her to go to a third-party for this but she got a better deal from her local bank. The place she is hosting her site **will** have a secure server within a month so this won't really be a problem. Also, people will use this form to calculate totals and then mail it in too.

Thanks for your help. I think I have it almost figured out but I'll head over to the other board and ask.

In this thread there are two URLs where you can get a free secure place to have the orders taken. NOT the merchant's account but the secure site http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks for all your help. I'm looking in to the hosted option now but since I should have a secure server by the end of the week, I might just handle it myself.
