Wow! I just installed a temporary copy and I think I now see why it's so highly rated at cgi-resources.com The installation is, dare I say, Groovy! Didn't make a single error! I used the "telnet" install system, where you ftp the tar file to any temporary dir, untar it and follow the directions. Once that part is done, you access the second installation step via a web browser, then the third and final step back in a telnet session. Sounds complicated but it's not-even if it's not a yes or no type question, the prompting help is fantastic.
The ($99) pro upgrade to D3 adds some security features and other things, but can be added in at any time-no need to lose accumulated messages, settings, etc.
The message presentation is linear (like what you're reading this with http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif ), not threaded.
Check it out if you've been looking at discussion boards. Oh, and even the free Discus can be used on a commercial site.
