Hey again . . .

We sign our very first web design contract on Tuesday (woohoo!!) and our client is very excited about the idea of having an online newsletter that visitors can subscribe to.

Now, I've noticed a few places on futurequest.net mentions "mailing lists with EZ-MLM" but I can't find much info about it. Can you help me out? Where would I go to set it up? Is it up and running (I noticed a post in Server News about posibly changing it)? Are there any other options I should consider? I told her, "sure, we can do that"
but it seems I don't even know what to ask about how to do it!

Thanks in advance . . .

Bekariso

There are a couple of ways to accomplish a mailing list....

Right now most are using a cgi-script and/or php/mysql to do this... cgi-resources.com will lead you to some nice web based scripts for mailing lists. Many still love listbot.com and I agree they have a great setup.

Now some of the command line gurus are using the EZ-MLM ... right now we only have that available for setup via telnet (info on how is in the Alpha/Beta/Gamma forum) we are anxious to begin building a GUI interface for it on the CNC....

For this one your best bet is to test different ideas -- play around a bit -- and see what works best for you http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks!

Definately not feeling up to trying to manage anything by telnet -- my only experience with telnet is using it for logging into Pine email (ucky program) at school. Mean to learn more about it soon, but not yet, and that sounds too complicated to start with. http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

I checked out listbot.com, but the free version had way too much advertizing ... I feel we owe our client better than that ... and there seemed to be free and cheap scripts at cgi-resources.com that did as much or more, so I downloaded one of those and I hope to set it up by tonight and see if that will work.

Thanks for you input!
