This is going to take longer than expected... :(
The boot loader is hanging and we are currently trying to work around it...

SONIC is back online, however I am still reworking the boot loader and will be placing it through a controlled reboot...

SONIC is now back online and in full production...
Event Start: 3:32 AM ET
Event End: 4:47 AM ET
Duration: 75 min
The problem was that /dev/sda suffered a hard failure, and when we installed the replacement drive - 'lilo' on /dev/sdb refused to start resulting in the infamous 'LI' upon bootup...
The 'LI' problem can be extremely difficult to fix, and tonight it was being extremely resistive to anything we did...
In the end, we rigged up a special boot environment via a netboot and manually started the server with grub...
At this point, LILO has been completely removed from SONIC and replaced it with the more resilient grub boot loader...
Our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this extended disk replacement outage has caused!
