Hi Deb (or CCTech),
There seems to be a virtual server error on your part. (AHHHH! http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif)

My cgi-bin is not working correctly. Take a look at http://www.bid4beanies.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi , all you get is a 404 right?

Well the cgi files ARE there, me and my programer check. I don't see it, he does. And he insists that they ARE their.

Also when I FTP into my directory (/xbid4beanies/, not xbid4beanies/beanies/) I get blocked or something, then WS_FTP crashed. This happened to me twice, it seems to be an on & off thing because I just logged in fine.

Am I confusing or what? Ask me if you don't understand.

Thanks....

There is nothing wrong with the cgi-bin http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

You have created a cgi-bin directory inside your www directory and have tried to use it as a cgi-bin -- this will not work.

You need to use the cgi-bin that was created for you that is NOT inside your www directory...
/big/dom/xbid4beanies/cgi-bin/

If you are inside your www directory click up out of it and you will see your cgi-bin ... put your scripts in there http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Yes, I know that... http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
I am talking about that directory, my real cgi-bin at /big/dom/xbid4beanies/cgi-bin/

But I have no idea what is going on...
I am talking about the /big/dom/xbid4beanies/cgi-bin/ directory though.
By the way, my programmer tried "creating" the cgi bin you are talking about when mine seemed to be messed up. (of course that didn't work http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif) So could you take a look in my directory alittle? Also try seeing http://www.bid4beanies.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi

Thanks bunches,
-Bi4Be

PS:Am I being a tad dumb? I guess my caffeine IV unit needs refilling!

I've looked in the cgi-bin .. it's empty. There are no files in it. The only files I see in a cgi-bin are the ones that are within your www directory...

Try re-uploading them to the correct cgi-bin -- after the coffee http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

OK, my IV unit is back to pumping... and-
-Ack! I just FTP'ed and noticed my programmer did that!

He was giving me msg's about how there are server errors and my cgi-bin isn't installed and THAT was the simple error all of this time!

Thank you so much, Deb! Once again I should state that I should be paying you guys double my monthly hosting charge, JUST for all of the unlimited support! You guys made my day... http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Well, well, I had to edit this msg!

Don't worry about it... We have a term for it...

It's called the 'Duh' factor, and Deb and I get hit with it at least once a week... http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

One Day we may graduate to the 'Doh' factor... http://www.aota.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

LOL, Andrew!

I am so excited! I just got my first CGI script ever working, even though I needed lots of help from a programmer!
Now would be one of those Woohooo! times...
Wooohooooooo! http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
