I have installed squirrelmail and it is working well for those in my organization that access webmail. I have Spamassassin globally enabled for all our accounts. I did notice that squirrelmail has Spamfilters as an option. It looks like it checks against various DNS blacklists. Since we get our share of spam would enabling this even be useful or am I essentially duplicating what SA is doing (especially when it checks against RBLs)?
Thanks,

FutureQuest does use some blacklists to block spam email from certain sources before it even enters our network. See this Knowledgebase article:

If the Squirrelmail filter you are considering uses the same blacklists that we are already using, then it wouldn't do any good to enable the Squirrelmail filter, and would just use up extra CPU cycles on the server for no good reason and possibly result in delayed mail delivery (filters take time to run and if they do not complete within a certain amount of time, the mail remains in the queue for attempted delivery later).
You might try it out for a short test run and see if it helps or not.
