im in the process of starting a website based on various affiliate programs. what ive got going is when you choose to click on a product, it opens on a new page, in the same window, except with an iframe that displays the entire sales pitch for that product (which is obviously linked from the companies website). my question is, will doing it this way (in iframes as apposed to just a normal link) in any way negatively effect the affiliate cookies that the individual companies need to be able to read?
thanks a lot

Ben, hard to say without knowing the specifics of the code or the affiliate program. Most likely not. But it's possible the affiliate code includes some javascript functions that are sensitive to their environment, so to speak.
Long story short, the best way to find out is probably to build and test it.

its pretty much all built and working, and ive gone to the links myself and noticed in the affiliate sign in page for the certain companies, the number of "clicks" goes up each time. so its working in that respect. just wondering about the times when other users leave the official site after being directed there by one of my links, and come back later to buy something (thats supposed to count as my sale), if the necessary cookies will be there to tell the company they came from my site first. but i dont know how to test that...
