Ugh... I need help. My brains are fried, and at my wits end. I hope I make sense of this to you all.
I'm currently using the cgiemail (that my ISP provides on my freebie 5 megs), to send to me, a txt file that I have formated in html, generated from a form, so all I have to do when I receive a form, is to copy/paste into a "blank" .html page.
I don't know diddly squat about CGI to know how it all works... I just want it to work on my FQ site. All I want for Christmas, is my forms/txts to work on my FQ site.
I've gone to a gazillion tutorial sites, and am more confused then ever. I am confused by Telnet as well. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I'd be forever grateful!

I'm trying to visualize what you're attempting to do..
You want to set up a form on FQ whereby you get the form results via email - I got this part.
What is to be done with the email?
Re telnet, what sort of application are you using? Don't know how much you know already, but when you "telnet" into another machine, like Taz at FQ, it's basically like you're sitting right there at their machine running stuff on Linux. I equate it to my old computers when I was sitting at the DOS prompt..only this time, it's the linux shell prompt, and the machine is in Florida..
Hi Monica,
Does your ISP offer a help page that explains the form? If so they may even offer a link to the orginal author etc and it may just be as simple as downloading the script itself and installing it.
Another idea, if the above wont work, is to email your ISP and say something like "I would like to make special edits to this script is their any way I can get a copy of it?"
Many people email us wanting a copy of the regular form mail script we use and it's easy enough to send them the url of where to go download it...
Tis a thought

Thanks for the tips... but Benson, you make my <green> head spin! To answer your question, the contents then become a "ready made" web page.
Thanks Deb, I'm sure my ISP would let me have a copy (they are a great ISP), but I'm clueless on how to edit it, install it, etc. I'm going to call them in the morning, and ask, as well as offer them cookies and milk. http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif
My ISP has a link to here:
http://web.mit.edu/wwwdev/cgiemail/webmaster.html#download
I've gone here, read it, studied it, smelled it, talked to it... and still... nothing is happening in my head.
Thanks for the help, I'll let you know if I succeed! :-)
