I'm updating my various installations of Norton SystemWorks and Anti-V to the 'latest & greatest'. Norton requires that I 1st uninstall the previous versions, and that I uninstall my ZoneAlarm firewall, but that I also have an internet connection. And so, with all that protection completely removed while my box is connected to the internet.... well, you get the picture. I know McAfee has the same kind of requirements, not sure about any of the other products out there. Seems pretty darned ironic to me. Anyone have any insights as to how this makes any security sense? :dunno:
