HI.. I have been sent a question in email.. I will paste it.

Here is the email from the client himself:

On our site where we have- order from a gift fruit shipper- is it possible to have all the shippers linked where it goes to a different shippers site everytime the link is clicked? Picture shippers numbered from one to 500. Is it possible to have the first time it's clicked to go to number one next time it's clicked to go to number two and so on till it reaches the end and then start over again?

If you know of anything similar to offer as for Java scripting or CGI.. please post or hit me in email. thanks!

Very common request http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Many ways you can accomplish it http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

You'll find what you are looking for here http://www.cgi-resources.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/Random_Links/

Going to any cgi resource in general and searching for "Random Links" will offer you even more options.

Hope this helps
Deb

Confession time .. *sigh*

This is my first experience with using a CGI script and i have this one little question.

how do ya set permissions? I know anything we send up to future quest, andrew has an "autmagical something" taking care of that.. but I want to know how to do this myself. Does this require the use of Telnet?

here is the url of the chosen script
http://www.aquapal.co.uk/perl/jarandom.html

and.. BTW.. i got it to work! *proud smile*

Hello,

It depends on your FTP program - in Cute FTP you just right-click and hit "Change File Attributes" and a nice little window pops up with different selections.

Check your FTP program's help file for the particulars.

But no, Telnet isn't needed for that http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
