Hi,

I'm trying to use SimpleSecure on the server to send PGP encrypted messages via email.

I have a PGP windows shell installed on my home PC, and it's working fine. Using this system, I can encrypt/decrypt files/messages with no problems.

I am using version 2.6.3i (the international version of PGP)

However, when I install SimpleSecure and set the correct paths etc and try and use that to encrypt a message, I get an email back saying
Script Error: PGP produced no output when processing this message.
The most likely cause for this is that the PGP key you submitted
is invalid. (pgp_key submitted: Lee Benson <lee@uniprosper.com> ) A less likely
cause is that you did not specify the correct location of pubring.pgp
when setting up the script (pgp_config_files: ../simplepgp)"

I've tried changing and playing around with everything I can, but I still get this same error message. Any ideas?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Lee.

FutureQuest has PGP 5.0 as the default... You can however switch to our PGP 2.6.3 version quite easily...

Follow along... http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

1) Telnet in to your account.
2) edit the '.bash_profile'
3) change the 'PATH=' line to include the path for pgp 2.6.3 binaries... e.g.
'PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin' --> 'PATH=/usr/local/pgp263/bin:$PATH:$HOME/bin'

You will then either have to source the new profile - or simply logout and log back in...

To test which PGP you are using, just type 'pgp' at the command line...

Hope this helps...

Glad it's working! I was thinking about playing around with it myself. However, I wonder - what is the more likely danger? Someone intercepting your unencrypted email, or someone snooping whilst your friend submits the mail form over an unsecured (non-SSL) link?

To me, the PGP/SSL combo would be a formidable (and relatively easy) security system for the small business site.
