I was able to get my email through Thunderbird fine this morning but then I started getting a "cannot connect to server pop.mywebsite.com; the connection was refused" error. I have not changed anything, why can't I get my mail? I've had to use the Questmail site all day and its a pain. :/ Thanks.

It would probably be best if you would please send the specifics to the Service Desk (http://service.futurequest.net/index.php?_a=tickets&_m=submit) and we'll do some specific troubleshooting for you.

The following is the information we'll need:
http://service.FutureQuest.net/kb260

If there is more to the error (such as a code), please be sure to include it in your message as well.

Thanks in advance,
Melissa

I just tried connecting to the POP service on both of the domains in your account and they both worked. I would suggest contacting the service desk and providing more information such as what your IP address is, what email settings you are using, and what virus scanning software you are using. The last being the most likely cause of the problem.

and what virus scanning software you are using. The last being the most likely cause of the problem.

This comment prompted me to try and open up my Norton, only for me to find the icon that's normally at the bottom right of the screen was missing. Trying to open it from its desktop icon didn't do anything. :/ So I restarted the computer, got the icon back...and now my email comes in fine. That was weird. So it's like my Norton crashed at some point early today and I didn't notice, and that crippled my email client or something. Thanks for the help! :clapper:

Just to err on the side of paranoia you should probably tell Norton to do an upgrade and then a full system scan. There have been viruses in the past that crashed or just did away with common virus scanner programs. I am not saying it didn't just crash on its own but paranoia usually doesn't hurt
