Sendmail path?

Okay I'm trying to get my UBB all setup and fighting with color schemes like mad, but I had a question.

What's the path for Sendmail? or should I be using the other option- the sockets?

Hi Armand,

The path to Sendmail is /usr/lib/sendmail as noted in your activation letter. I suggest using Sendmail http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Sorry been busy pulling my hair out trying to get the colors to work on the UBB. Everything is fine except can't get the posted date/time on the messages to come out right. Nothing changes that color?

Sorry, I have no idea about that part... I don't have it set up on my end anymore, so I cant tinker with the admin features.

By poking thru the postings.cgi file, the variable that controls the font color is $TableStripTextColor If there's a box in the admin->Styles area that has that name (or remarkably similar) that should be it. No promises tho.

I do plan on buying a copy of UBB of my own soon, but no idea when. That's a pretty big hunk o change for me to be spending on a bloody message forum http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif If anyone else wants one but doesn't wanna blow that much cash, lemme know. Maybe we can dig up enough people who want it and we can all go in together to get one of the package discounts or something.

If you think you could put yourself in the position of being the 'main point of contact' for the UBB we have a version you could have http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

We purchased one version too many... ergo we purchased three licenses when we only need two http://www.aota.net/ubb/frown.gif

What I can do is toss you the third version and go change the reg info to match your site and then you'll have something to work with and keep updated etc for the year...

After these leases are up -- who knows -- but for now they are paid for etc so my as well put them to good use http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

By the way Del, or anyone else, I fought with the UBB script to get a background image to work also.... the recommended way in the styles variables didn't work. (it suggests upload into in non-cgi directory and then just entering filename).

Got it to work by entering full URL to the image in its original directory....just another possible fix if needed. Something for your possible tutorials or what not Del.

Thanks much Joe, I'll be sure to mention that in the docs. Pretty soon here we'll have UBB so figured out that it won't be any fun anymore. Then we'll need to come up with some other whacko script to get headaches about *g*
