I just saw your comment not responded in a long time, so I decided to pop in and ask something about the topic.

Understood all about the forwarding whatever not sent to the root account by setting up a forward via the CNC. If needed to forward mails sent to root, then ask support.

But Alias Setup at the CNC is my doubt. I've already e-mailed to ANYTHING@MyDomain.com, and as you told me in an e-mail lesson, it IS delivered to my root account. So, what is the purpose of the CNC Alias setup? (if anyway all things to "@MyDomain.com" gets to my root acct). Am I lost? http://www.aota.net/ubb/redface.gif

Now, CNC POP mailboxes setup, I think I understood, they are the normal extra mailboxes besides the root account that come with my contract with FQ. Right?

Hi Javier,

Root Account = UserName@YourDomain.xxx ANYTHING NOT already designated will go into this account.

But if you setup a second POP Account let's say "MyMail@YourDomain.xxx" then email sent to MyMail@YourDomain.xxx will go to that account and not into your root account.

Aliases are like a forwarding email address. Let's say you want "YourMail@YourDomain.xxx" to go to you@aol.com... then you would setup an alias. Whenever someone sends mail to YourMail@YourDomain.com the email will not end up in the root but rather, end up in the you@aol.com account.

You can setup all of the above from your CNC. But if you want your UserName@YourDomain.com (root Account) to forward to you@aol.com then you need to email Support@FutureQuest.net so we can set that up for you.

Does this help a lil bit?

Forwarding is only for your Root Account which you have to email Support to accomplish.

You have the following options in the CNC to perform.

Add/Change/delete a POP Account which if for setting up new full POP EMail accounts, changing the passwords for these accounts, and deleting these accounts.

Add/Change/delete an Aliases .. for these you can set them up, change who they forward to, or delete them.

I'm not quite sure what else you are referring to.

Let me know if this doesn't answer the question...

there aew some things that i have sent to various hotmail boxes, and that is why i use the alias. that way, julie@splitangels.org will send to splitangels@hotmail.com

i do this to keep myself oragnized.

Ok, I went to the CNC and with your explanation I think I found the source of my confusion:

TEXT THERE SHOWS

Vocabulary List:
*POP EMail Account: Full virtual EMail accounts. Using programs like Eudora allow you to send/receive email via a POP EMail Account.

*EMail Alias: Although mail is sent to the specified address it is not received
at the specified address. It is instead automagically forwarded on to another POP EMail account of your choice. This allows you to check your email from a different location (on or off of your virtual domain SMTP
server).

*EMail Forwarding: This works the same as EMail Aliases yet is reserved for your shell EMail account only. Perhaps adding: ASK SUPPORT TO SETUP YOUR SHELL ACCT TO FORWARD TO...
*Shell Account: javier@crystalking.com. This is your primary POP mailbox. It receives any mail sent to your virtual domain that isn't designated to go to any other EMail account. You can not change this account via the Mail Manager. The shell password is the same as your main account password.
To change it, return to the CNC and choose the 'Change Password' tile.

And because the previous statement on "Shell Account" says that IT ISN'T designated to any other mail account, I got a bit wire crossed

Thanks
