Is this a scammer's attempt at honesty, or is he just clueless like the rest of them? Bank of America never sends their users emails requesting personal details in this way. Dude, you just did. So I guess this means you aren't from Bank or America, eh?

If I can't ask for lightning to strike this idiot, can I at least arrange to have his cable modem fried?

I heard a couple of radio commercials recently that had contradictory statements, like "weight loss systems don't work...try our weight loss system..." Either they think it will get them off the hook if they're sued, they think it looks like a legitimate disclaimer and will discourage lawsuits, or they want to weed out the smart people who will ask for their money back or ask difficult questions. Another ad gave a telephone number about three or four times, and the last time it was different. That was probably to get people talking about the ad or get them to call to correct the company and be subjected to a sales pitch or so the company could get their telephone number to sell. Nobody responding to the email would fall for a sales pitch but if they complain, the spammer would confirm the email address.

If we could only figure out a way to tax stupidity, we could repeal all the rest of the taxes out there. My favorite spammers send me stuff in Russian. I look at the BS and just shake my head as I hold the delete button down.

One of my coworkers gets a lot of spam in Portuguese. Never been able to figure that one out.
