How do I connnect to FTP?

I am using NVU to make my website, but being a complete newbie, I can't seem to find the right path or ftp file name to upload/publish my pages to. How do I do this? Please remember I am very new, and I have tried looking this up, but just can't find it...Thank you in advance for any help/advice.
