3COM router doesn't allow phone calls

I got a 3COM Office Connect 3C888 so I could get phone calls while on the computer. It worked the first day I hooked it up. Hasn't worked since. Any ideas?

This double modem makes it easy to create a LAN and share Internet access over a 56K analog line provided you have 2 phonelines...Are you using two phone lines? Have you double checked all the connections with the diagram and for a solid physical connection? Have you rebooted everything? Have you reread the manual?

Not a helpful reply I'm afraid, but an observation: out here in the lake where broadband was also slow to come, I noticed it's a lot harder to get answers/support information for old analog data devices now than it was in the late 90's and early part of this century when they were mainstream and current.
