I recently put together a new pc the specs are as follows:
Asus P5N-E SLI Socket 775 Motherboard
Intel Core2 Duo E4500 2.2Ghz Socket 775 CPU
Corsair TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2x1024)
Centon 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz
Ultra 600w X-Finity Power Supply w/2 80mm
KFA2 GeForce 8500 GT Video Card - 512MB DDR2, PCI Express, SLI Ready, DVI, VGA, TV Out, OEM, Video Card
Seagate 320GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit, the problem that I have yet to figure out, is when I hook up the pc to the monitor, the computer turns on but I get nothing from the monitor. I have tried the computer on my monitor and two others, with a similar video card and still no difference. All of the above parts are brand new except the Hard Drive. It was pulled from a pc that was fried in a thunderstorm, is their a chance the drive was fried also, if not what could be the problem?

If you've tried more than one video card already and get no video signal from any of them, at all, are there any beep codes or error lights? Check the manual to see if there are error lights or if beep codes are used -- if beep codes check whether motherboard has a tiny tiny speaker built or if not make sure case speaker lead is connected to motherboard speaker pins so you can hear the beep codes. A stick of bad memory for example can stop a machine dead in its tracks, but you should get either a beep code or error light(s) on the motherboard to indicate a fatal bios/post error. (disconnect the drive as you don't need it connected to see if bios will show on the monitor, and try with only the minimum configuration of memory installed, and try switching the memory that is installed.)

Try running with only 1 DIMM. Then try a different DIMM. That will tell you if you have a bad DIMM.

Also, try disconnecting the disk to see if the power supply is overloaded.
