I still have some monster cards. I bought a Logitech BLU LX3 US 931658-0403 mouse today. I just realized that it's appropriate for Halloween, but it's a dumb color. Black, silver, and the top is green. The product number has "BLU" in it, but it's more green. Black and blue would have been more appropriate. I think they figured that people would worry about it not matching their keyboard if it was a normal computer color, and this way people will think it's not meant to match anything. I'm dissatisfied and I didn't even open it yet. I bet there's more EMR from these high resolution mice and I'll probably get finger cancer. But that's OK for Halloween too I guess.

Two years ago I was new to the neighborhood and almost ran out of candy before the kids stopped trick or treating. So the following year I bought twice as much candy but I still had the same problem because I gave more generous handfuls from the larger tub. This year I systematically laid out little piles on the table next to the door and I was able to be more generous at the end.
But now I have candy left over and have to figure out how to keep myself from eating it. Maybe I could put it into the Santa Claus pails at the mall.
Happy Halloween!

Here's something spooky...I Googled for finger cancer and found this (http://thedailykirk.blogs.com/the_daily_kirk/2006/10/finger_cancer_t.html), which was posted last Halloween.

As others have said in that web site's comment section, its in very poor taste. Cancer of any sort is not the stuff of jokes, halloween or not. Thats my opinion of it.

Cancer ...not the stuff of jokes...I agree. People who have it or who beat it can joke about it, everyone else should leave it alone.

I didn't even read the comments. The Google results said "Am I the only one worried about getting finger cancer from these track pads on our laptops?" That alone makes it one of the most informative webpages on the issue that I've seen. I think I tuned out the non-informative parts.

I believe CASPER appreciates the spirit of halloween more than PHOENIX (http://www.aota.net/forums/showthread.php?postid=26124#post26124)...
Hope everyone had a happy one. :)

Here are the jack-o-lanterns we carved this year.
From left to right:
mine, Jenny's, Chris'
We dressed up (all three of us) as pirates and took Jenny trick-or-treating (we didn't take pictures of ourselves in costume...what losers we are!). Only about a third of the houses in our complex actually give out treats. So those that do give out candy give out generous handfuls. Jenny got more than she needed, of course.

All in all, a very enjoyable All Hallow's Eve...

Today was my "get rid of the leftover candy" day. I donated to my local library.

That's a good idea, I didn't know they accepted candy...
...you can toss them in the general direction of Phoenix...I have a good arm but not that good. New York is closer to Pittsburgh than I am to Phoenix. My birthday plans don't include another trek across the desert this year. I did do that two weeks ago but even then Interstate 8 doesn't go through Phoenix. Be careful in those dusty mines. :)

Nice pic of the jack-o-lanterns Sheila. I could tell that the one on the left was yours  . I didnt do any trick or treating for the festive day. I have no kids and no kids knocked on my door. Thats all right though. I work with kids in a kids hospital full time. So I see kids all the time. I can see you had a good time :kewl:

I like your pumpkin, Sheila. Anything that would dare sleep through Halloween is a gourd after my own heart. :rasberry:

Thanks. Hubby shot that pic.

LOL. Well, I'm glad that you "got" what was going on with that pumpkin. Based on the reactions at home, it seemed it wasn't that clear (hubby thought it was an emoticon pumpkin and daughter had no idea...)
Yes, sleep is a wonderful thing and has been a theme in our family lately. Especially with college daughter and her physics and tendency to simply stay up too late, and sis-in-law gone back to school with a family to take care of... lots of people in our family needing more sleep!

OTOH, Jenny's pumpkin looks like it hasn't been getting enough sleep. I half expect it to start floating through the air making woo-woo sounds or something, 'cuz I've been there too. :rasberry:

Sounds like Jenny. Although I doubt that in her case it's from lack of sleep (we make her go to be around 8:30-ish). More likely it's because she's 10, likes making noise and likes flying around the house. ;)

We don't usually do much for Halloween - hand out candy if anyone rings the doorbell, that's about it. However, my youngest is visiting a family out of state that does the holiday up big. She carved this pumpkin:

If you know what it is, can she come stay with you until she outgrows her obsession? :surrend:

I had to search a bit, but it appears to be the modified Lambda that the Stargate shows use in their titles, and which signifies Earth, from what I read.

Yup, that's it. She's completely obsessed with that series and its related spinoff.
