View Full Version : Upgrading Basic -> Silver?

I have this probably somewhat silly
question:

I want to upgrade from "Basic" to
"Silver", and I suppose this is done
on the pages

1. http://www.FutureQuest.net/Order/

and

2. http://www.FutureQuest.net/Order/virtual1.php?package=2

Now, I realize that I should select the
option "This domain is already on a
FutureQuest (change existing account)",
and that I should enter the existing
domain name as domain name.

Now, if I enter my existing username and
existing password into the "Desired
username" and "Password" fields, I need
to know that there's absolutely no
possibility that my existing "Basic"
account is "reset" (e.g. directories
cleaned, files disappearing etc etc):
All I want is 25 more MB space (total
50) and 5 more MB bandwidth (total 10).
I don't want any kind of new/reset/etc
operation being performed on my account,
though.

Now, I realize that this question might
seem a bit paranoid, but I'm asking it
anyway since it's the same mechanism to
order an new/empty account as it is to
upgrade an old. (As far as I've been
able to find out.)

/Samuel

Hello Samuel,

You have the Upgrade process down to a science :)

The official version:

All you need to do, to upgrade (or downgrade) a current package, is to visit the order forms found at http://www.FutureQuest.net/Order/ selecting the package of your choice. From there we will remove the old package settings and activate the new. Once completed, you will receive a new activation letter.

There are no extra fees for upgrading/downgrading an account outside of the difference in price between packages.

Our system will mark this Order as a "Duplicate Domain" which requires manual intervention.[nbsp][nbsp]This is to prevent anything happening to the existing files/folders.

Basically it is an Administrative change and there are no changes made to your existing account other than the increased Bandwidth, Disk Space and POP email accounts.

And it never hurts to ask as it's Always "Better to be Safe Than Sorry"

Hope this helps,
Bob

- Upgrade - Downgrade, Hey Deb, can I play with a SeeSaw on duty ? :P -

Hi Chris,

Well...[nbsp][nbsp]Actually....[nbsp][nbsp]I....[nbsp][nbsp]Ummmm....[nbsp][nbsp]Hadn't Noticed myself :o

Thanks for pointing out the Even Heavier Tag my name carries, and I thought hitting that "Submit Reply" button was hard when it said Service Rep...[nbsp][nbsp] Geeezzzz[nbsp][nbsp];)[nbsp][nbsp]

It seems that Deb,TeRRa & Paul think I'm doing a pretty good job, at least so far :)

Thanks for noticing.

Bob - I just noticed (perhaps belatedly) that you're now "Service Mgr". That was a mistake on my part while manually editing the forums to add Bruce Guenter...

I reused some left over code, and accidentally dropped Bob down a slot that was attached to 'Service Mgr'...

"Manager" title is a deprecated nomenclature of titles because we are all on the same team and all are equal..[nbsp][nbsp]We assist one another, instead of pounding each other over the head with wooden mallets, plus managers are generally despised by nature so therefore we try to avoid this issue altogether as we really like him a lot...

To be forthright, his official title is 'Service Manager', but in the forums we are all "Service Reps" at heart...

Whewwwww,[nbsp][nbsp]That's a relief.

Now it's back to just agonizing over pushing the "Submit Reply" Button instead of "Dreading" it ;)

Glad we got this cleared up :)
