Hello folks.
I'm new to Futurequest but not to site management.

Question regards heirarchy of setting spam filtering.

I created 2 accts, setting spam filtering to Yes on both. Decided there must be a global setting. Found it. Reset filtering on those 2 accts to No so I could establish the global Spam setting.

Created another account. ASSuMEd that Spam Filter YES would now display for new accts (and hopefully the original ones I created). But it's not - the accounts seem to have the default NO associated with spam.

Please tell me what I'm missing. And be gentle - this dark background with white lettering is really hard on the eyes! So I know I could be missing something stupid.

Thanks in advance.

Hello :)

When you have the Global SA setting enabled it will affect all email accounts, POP or aliases, within that account. It does not display the SA icon next to each individual box. If you try to enable SA on an individual email account now you will find that it is prohibited.

Note that if you have enabled SA to delete mail then Global is fine, however if you want to monitor tagged email by redirecting that to another box on the same account you cannot use the Global setting as all email accounts are affected with the Global Setting.

Hope this helps,
Bob

Thanks very much, Bob.
So for flexibility later, it sounds like I'd be better off setting the global setting to NO and then set each account to YES.

I'd assumed that I could tweak each account, if need be, later.

Thanks for the quick response!

Hi again and yes for flexibility setting SA on each individual account is best.

Note that when you enable SA on a single account and scroll all the way to the bottom of the settings you will see an option to apply the same settings to other accounts as well :)
