I am VERY unhappy that the temporary page you have put under my new virtual URL has advertising on it that not only do I not get paid for even though it's MY url, but which gives the impression that Misfit Women is somehow affiliated with eNom.[nbsp][nbsp]There is even a slug at the bottom inviting people to advertise on this page!!!!
.
Even further, there is no indication on the page that misfitwomen.org will be there instead within a few days, which will certainly confuse any early visitors.[nbsp][nbsp]I have been happy with Futurequest so far, but I consider your use of my URL to generate income for yourselves an outrageous abuse and I'm VERY unhappy.

Ummm.... With what account?[nbsp][nbsp]FutureQuest does _NOT_ place advertising on any of the domains.... the _most_ you may see would be on the temp page (which you can replace immediately) or the Parked domains which would even then be a simple text only link stating that it's on a FutureQuest.

Deb
[nbsp]- Uhhhh nope.... don't think so.... where?

Hello,

I am not sure what you are unhappy with FutureQuest in regards to, as the domain, misfitwomen.org is not even pointed towards the FutureQuest name servers.

Domain Name: MISFITWOMEN.ORG
Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.enom.com
Referral URL: www.enom.com (http://www.enom.com)
Name Server: DNS1.ENOM.COM
Name Server: DNS2.ENOM.COM
Name Server: DNS3.ENOM.COM
Name Server: DNS4.ENOM.COM

Hmmmmm

Deb and Bob...
It's the temp page I'm talking about, Deb.[nbsp][nbsp]Which I don't know how to replace because I can't find it with File Manager.[nbsp][nbsp]So therefore I thought I couldn't replace it until the FQ name servers got throughout the system, I forget what you call that.[nbsp][nbsp]If you can tell me what to do to replace it (or point me to instructions somewhere) I will do so immediately.

However, the info from Bob is totally bewildering.[nbsp][nbsp]MisfitWomen.org is registered with DomainGuidebook.com, where as soon as you activated my URL I went and entered the FutureQuest name servers.[nbsp][nbsp]I know nothing about eNom or those name servers, unless they belong to DomainGuidebook.[nbsp][nbsp]I'll go to their page and see what I can find out.

Are you really up and working at 2 a.m.?[nbsp][nbsp]Altho I am an unhappy client, it's not important enough to stay up any later to deal with.[nbsp][nbsp]We can fuss about it tomorrow.

ENOM probably is their name servers.[nbsp][nbsp]The page you are seeing is hosted by them and not FutureQuest.[nbsp][nbsp]In this case you probably will not be able to replace the page but rather, need to wait until the transfer is completed.[nbsp][nbsp]Many registrars advertise on the domains that reside on their name servers.[nbsp][nbsp]Once your domain is pointing to the FutureQuest name servers that will all be gone.[nbsp][nbsp]As this account is an IRM all of the files for it will go into the directory you specified the IRM to point to within your main account.

The key is giving the transfer time to be completed and noting that the page/advertising that is disturbing you is hosted by the registrar and not FutureQuest.

Deb
[nbsp][nbsp]- Nothing 24 to 48 hours shouldn't fix.

Just a quick note,

Yes it is important enough to be here and deal with. :)

Until the DNS changes take place you can't reach your server on FutureQuest with the domain name, however in your Activation Letter you will note that we include Temporary Access information, using an IP number.

If you place that in your browser you will see the Temporary page that FutureQuest places on your server space when your account is activated.

I hope this helps, and Welcome to FutureQuest,
Bob

I didn't know they were doing that and will blast them for doing so without it being a part of our agreement.[nbsp][nbsp]Not that it will do any good.[nbsp][nbsp]Altho I suppose that's a survival tactic for places that charge very little for registering domain names.[nbsp][nbsp]Anyway I am much relieved to find out it isn't you folks, and of course I submit herewith my apologies. I should have realized that the URL couldn't possibly be pointed at FutureQuest so fast -- wasn't thinking.[nbsp][nbsp]Again.[nbsp][nbsp]Sigh.
I see it is 'only' elevenish at your end; the email notifications that you had answered my post were time-stamped 2:30 a.m. for some reason.

Not a problem..the key is just letting us know what's wrong and allowing us a chance to either fix it or explain why we are not able to.[nbsp][nbsp]That's exactly what these forums and the Service Desk are for.[nbsp][nbsp]Let's just hope for a speedy transfer :)

answered my post were time-stamped 2:30 a.m. for some reason. That would be GMT (or UTC) time as we are GMT -0400...

Email clients are supposed to localize that as that's pretty much SOP...[nbsp][nbsp]Look for an option in your help file that may or may not normalize the time...

Terra
--Last I checked, GMT is pretty much universal to everyone thus ensuring compatibility with all--

Odd, because my e-mails normally are time-stamped with the local time at point of origin, an option that in Eudora Pro is selected under Date Display in the Options menu.
