I think I'll change my UserName to "Total Greenhorn"...

I gather that the 404.html document should just be edited to say what I want it to say.[nbsp][nbsp]I have tried to view the supplied copy with IE and I just get the IE 404 message.

I found the post about IE 5 and 512 byte document, so I added a bunch of junk lines into the thing.[nbsp][nbsp]Still I get the IE 404 message.

I'm at www.outtacyte.com (http://www.outtacyte.com) and I'll take any help I can.

I did a find on 404 in the AOTA site, but came up with nothing useful (except how to use the favicon.ico...)[nbsp][nbsp]Is there another area where I should look stuff up?

Is there a way to search the forum?

Try this...

Go to Tools then Internet Options then the Advanced Tab then the Browsing Category and UNCheck "Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages"

Let us know if that 'fixes it' as well as the 512k rule...

Thanks again.

I found that "Blankety Blank" setting and off'd it.

And presto it worked like it outta!

Yeah, Like many I find the MS software nosey and "in your face."[nbsp][nbsp]I kept to Netscape until I loaded version 6.

Netscapes load time were bad enough, but version 6 pushed me over the edge & I quit fighting...
