Greetings all. My client has the following request (see below). He will be moving his site to one of the FutureQuest High Capacity accounts. However, I still could use some advice as to what software is recommended for this sort of thing and what else I need to get in place.

===========================================

"Part of the new plan, is that we plan to rebroadcast our TV show from the web site, plus we will make available additional footage now shown in the TV show. Would you please look into the Futurequest side of how we get this capacity set up with them. We also may stream audio from a planned weekly satellite radio show I will do starting late next year."

============================================

Thanks,
Amy

The only off-the-shelf option is Real streaming which is available with both shared and dedicated accounts (and of course regular file downloads). For anything else you probably want to contact the help desk.

For streaming video files there are basically two options; using a streaming server or using HTTP streaming.

For the first FutureQuest offers RealMedia, like hobbes mentioned.
For the second there are no special requirements, other than encoding your files in a format that supports HTTP streaming, such as Flash Video, Windows Media or Quicktime.
