Can anyone recommend a good banner exchange program ? That basically meets the following requirements:

1) Operates on a hits/impressions & exchange ratio

2) Allows the member to make some money in addition to getting some traffic (ie. pay per click)

3) Also has a referral program.

I'd appreciate it. thanks !

Sincerely,
--Daniel

Webadvert is a good quality banner exchange I have seen people modify it to do a specific job.

And it was just mentioned in a recent thread that WebAdverts may soon be banned from the FQ servers...

If you are planing to open a banner exchange then get a dedicated server.[nbsp]

If you are planing to open a banner exchange then get a dedicated server.I ran a banner exchange that displayed around 17,000 ads per day on a Basic account ($19.95/mo) at FutureQuest. In comparison to others, 17000 per day is very little but it was a good start. I didn't make any money off of it until I sold it, but that's another story.

Maybe once the banner exchange actually takes off, Dan should look into pouring his money into a dedicated server.

Besides, Kickster, you yourself only recently decided to get one. http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001579-1.html

Hope this helps,

My banner exchange at FQ was getting 10,000 banners or less per day
but it got booted off FQ. Now I am running it on a dedicated raq3 server. Traffic has increased to 45K per day and webadvert is still
holding up without any problems my cpu is hovering around 0.75 which is good.
every once in while I get a spike in cpu usage and crashes my server. It takes a minute to reboot it. I think those spikes were the reason behind my account being booted off FQ.

Are you using WebAdverts for NeuAds??

I was talking about your ad agency not your banner exchange (which I didn't know about).

Neuads uses a semi custom made affiliate ascript. I dont think WebAdvert can handle that much load. Neuads serves over 100K ads per day.[nbsp]

I have never used WebAdverts for a banner exchange. I looked at it once, however it didn't have any appealing features at all. I won't ever consider it after reading TeRRa's recent comments about it and hearing about it being taxing on the server at 10,000 impressions/day. ;)

Daniel, bottom lines:
-Don't use WebAdverts.
-Choose carefully since it won't be easy to change systems once you have built yourself a popular exchange.
-Don't start one now if your main interest is making money.

I hope this helps...
