I'm in the process of upgrading a blooming site to a Joomla driven site with the VirtueMart shopping cart/ecommerce package on a FQ hosted site and find myself swimming in deeper water than I'd expected. VirtueMart does not seem to work with the shared certificate that we've been using on the site up til now. The online store is definitely low volume, low transaction and I'm not very familiar with the ssl certificate options. When I saw the annual prices on the standard certificates, I was underwhelmed. The store doesn't make enough money in a year to make it worth another $300/year. I'm wondering if a super cheap rapidSSL certificate like this one offered by servertastic (https://www.servertastic.com/) or glowhost (http://glowhost.com/)would be appropriate for our situation. It would seem to serve the purpose of getting the store to work. I know I regularly click through uncertain certificate messages on smaller business sites. However, I am not sure that I'm seeing the whole picture. Any advice or information to offer?
