Hi Everyone!
I've just finished (I think) the design of my first webiste, and I was wondering if some of you guru's would be kind enough to take a look at it for any glareing errors, or tips to make it better.
Granted most of the content isn't up yet, but I'm more concerned with appearence, code and style since as I said this is my first attempt at web design.
The link is http://www.freefilmreviews.com.
Thanks again,
Daniel

Well, the navigation and layout is fine in Opera (the browser that I use), and the menus work well. I'm not crazy about the color combo. Too many similar shades. But that could just be me. Interesting top-ten list.

I'd separate the top from the side a little and outline the top with a 1 pixel black border.
I think the FreeFilmReviews.com in the top left needs something - a different font, or maybe a graphic or small logo.

My first impression is the same as Jeff's. The domain name placed as you have it is identical to many domain parking pages and is much too generic.
Along that same line you need more color, more graphics, more reviews, etc. Yes, I know you're just getting started--keep going! :)
I'm not suggesting that you should copy other sites but you should spend many, many hours looking at other review sites and studying their methods so you know what's already been done and can more quickly pick a competitive point of departure. And not just review sites, look at all different kinds of sites for inspiriation.
Best of Luck.

Wow thanks so much everyone for your replies. I'm looking into to designing sometype of logo and I do want to change the color scheme I just haven't figured out what to change it to yet, except that I want something that is easy on the eyes. I agree it is just way too bland.
I'm trying to figure out a way to add a feature that would allow users to leave comments on the reviews to make the site a little more interactive. Done anyone have any suggestions on how I can go about that?
Thanks again,
Daniel
