Used WS_FTP in the past, thought it used to be free but at www.ipswitch.com (http://www.ipswitch.com) it seems to be 40 bucks now. CuteFTP also 40 bucks. Don't mind paying something, but $40 a bit painful considering how infrequently I actually use FTP*. Any thoughts ?

*FTP is built in to my NetObjects Fusion software for actual web site downloads, but occasionally I need a seperate FTP program for adding a photo or such.

Here are a couple of links that you might want to take a look at:

http://softseek.zdnet.com/Internet/FTP/FTP_Clients/Review_26347_index.html

http://softseek.zdnet.com/Internet/FTP/FTP_Clients/Review_45518_index.html

Those are two FREE FTP clients.

SoftSeek has over 20 pages of FTP clients and there are many FREE ones included:

Here is a link to the LeechFTP download site, it's FREE as well.

And here is an Aota.net tutorial for this client as well.

I hope this helps :)

you've always had to pay for WS_FTP PRo, but WS_FTP LE has always been free for personal or educational use, but it's harder to find. Take a look on www.winfiles.com (http://www.winfiles.com)

You're right Tibbits, I just called the ISP/host I got it from a year or two back, and the tech guy mumbled something about firing their previous tech guy and how he shouldn't have loaded WS_FTP Pro on my computer, how they could have gotten into trouble, blah, blah, blah :( I had just assumed all this time that it was shareware or freeware !
