View Full Version : _blank window size
Is there any way to control the window size when using _blank to open it? I know how to do popups with Java, but they are not being indexed by the on site search engine because of the Java script. If I just make it a normal link, it gets indexed. Of course the popup doesn't look very good when just using _blank when it opens a big window. I would like to control the size of the window.
I don't know if it is even possible, so any suggestions/help would be appreciated.
Sorry for the prevois post with nothing in it. That's twice it has happened and I'm not sure why.

I am 99% sure it's not possible to control the size of the new Window in this manner. As far as I know, when you use _blank, it's just forcing the browser to perform the same action as "Right click > Open in New Window" -- and in that case, the Window opens at whatever the last user set Window size was.
So, another thing to note is that what you see, and what your visitors see, will also be different as you may both have different default Window sizes set.
I'm not sure if this is true to all browsers, but FireFox & IE seem to set the default size based on whatever size the last closed browser was set at when closed. :dunno:
I'm also 99% sure it can't be done that way, but I just want to make sure. Anyone else?

That's what I figured and knew. I just needed someone else to say it so they wouldn't think I was jerking them around. This client is driving me crazy!
