Hi got a question I have built our cycling site here in Italy for the Paris Brest Paris bike ride this summer the site is http://www.audaxitalia.com/. The Paris brest Paris bike ride is held every 4 years in paris it is 1250km non stop. Now this site is the ultra cycling site here in italy. The site contains news, the races here in italy, register riders can make their own webpage and diary from now until after the ride. The teams that are holding the races here in italy the qualifying rides to go to paris can insert their races, times, course and results automanticaly which I approve before being published. My question is we are at about 700 visititors a day now and I wanted to start contacting companies who offer cycling products. I really don't have an idea how much to charge for a banner of a webpage inside the site.

If you go to http://www.audaxitalia.com/societa/see_team.php?c=1&zone=7

This is the page of my team here in nettuno with our three rides that we are having this year.

ON the right under sponsors are some local businesses that I brought on board.
If you click on the hotel Astura Palace Hotel
http://www.audaxitalia.com/sponsors/seestore.php?s=5&ac=2&a=2&zone=7

Here you can see all of the information of the hotel that the hotel inserted on their own from a reserved area and the riders can check room availability online.

Now I created the same system for cycling companies, cycling clothes ect..
They can create their page in our site.

What I would like to know since this is the official site of ultra cycling in Italy after 3 months we are at 600-700 visitors a day and this month there will a article about the site in the main cycling magazine. Any idea how much I should ask to run a banner or create a page in the site.

thanks
anthony

Really, whatever the market will bear is fair. Check what print ads go for in relevant magazines, race handbooks/guides, etc. and use that as your guide.

I don't know the laws where you are, but in the US we can't really openly discuss what to charge for specific things, because it can be considered illegal price fixing. But those guidelines should give you a starting place. Good luck!

Don't be afraid to call up the other media venues and ask for an ad price quote, too - after all, maybe you're considering advertising the website, ya know ?
